VISSION
The vision of SWS is: Society that have full access to all basic social services such as water, sanitation, health and education as well as socio-economic infrastructures where all have equal opportunity to benefit from these services with special considerations to the vulnerable groups like Refugees, Returnees, IDPs, women and children. Active and hard working society with goals and objectives on ownership and self-reliance. Healthy society free from all forms of discrimination, abuse and exploitation based on tribe/ethni and culture. Elimination of poverty from Somalia through direct community development action. In order to be sustainable, the outcome of the above should be based on local initiative owned and managed by the community itself.
MISSION
SWS’s mission is to restore Orphaned and abandoned vulnerable children’s dignity and security by providing a home for them that gives them hope, care, security, protection and comfort.
SWS advocate and protect the rights of children and vulnerable people by providing emotional, physical, health and psychological support to them and the family members who are available and present, and contribute community development and water sanitations and humanitarian emergencies, and capacity building.
To eliminate poverty from Somalia through community development. To achieve this, the organization targets intervention in five major sectors of: orphanage care, provision of potable water, health care, education, enhancement, and environment preservation.
To participate in relief and Tsunami emergencies when and where needed. To help community getting access to basic social services. To train social workers on their respective professional areas to better serve the community.
To promote self reliance and community ownership for better achievements and for sustainable development.
SWS orphanages serves a hot lunch daily to all and full meals for the children in residence. There are 292 children at Galkaio Orphanage, 218 at Garowe orphanage. Objectives: To provide shelter, care for the abandoned and orphaned and most vulnerable children in a stable and safe living environment. To protect and promote the health and welfare of children and nurture their overall growth and development, including their physical, social, emotional and intellectual needs, allowing them to grow and develop to their full potential.
To encourage the development of responsibility and self-esteem of the children in our care.
To ensure children are protected from any form of abuse, discrimination, slavery and cruel punishment. SWS does not condone any form of corporal punishment.
To enable children to grow within a caring, compassion environment and have access to essential services such as health and education and shelter.
